Senior Full Stack Developer

BlaqBerry is seeking a talented Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic Johannesburg team. You will play a pivotal role in building, optimising, and maintaining high-performance websites that deliver exceptional user experiences. This position requires proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, a keen eye for design, and the ability to translate business objectives into functional, engaging digital products.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

  • Develop responsive, visually appealing websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX wireframes into fully functional interfaces.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile-first design implementation.

Back-End Development

  • Build and maintain robust back-end systems and APIs to support website functionality.
  • Integrate with third-party services, plugins, and databases.
  • Optimise website performance, scalability, and security.

Full Project Lifecycle

  • Participate in project planning, requirement gathering, and technical scoping.
  • Implement new features and functionalities to meet evolving client needs.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues promptly.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

  • Work closely with designers, marketers, and project managers to deliver cohesive digital products.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented, and version-controlled code using Git.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure optimal performance and user experience.



Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  • Solid experience with back-end programming (e.g., PHP, Node.js, or similar).
  • Knowledge of database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Familiarity with modern frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue.js, or Angular (advantageous).
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices for web development.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.



Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Proven track record of web development projects (portfolio required).
  • Experience working in a digital marketing or branding agency is a plus.
